Our 2010 and 2011 painting workshops in the Bahamas were wonderful: great group, beautiful place, lots of time to paint, warm weather, and amazing beaches. What's not to like? So we've planned another get-away to the beautiful Bahamas.

In the tradition of Winslow Homer, we'll be leaving winter behind for an art sojourn in a tropical paradise! Join me for five days of painting at beautiful Elbow Cay, Abaco Island, Bahamas .

Color for Painters (New Workshop!)
March 20th-23rd, 2012 (4 days) 10:00 am-4:00 pm

To quote Winslow Homer, "A painter without understanding of color is like a mechanic without tools." This in-depth workshop will provide the skills you need to apply the principles of color composition to your painting in oil, watercolor or pastel. We'll use intensive abstract and realist exercises to learn the basics as well as the more complex concepts of color relationships. We'll also look at many examples of how painters throughout art history have applied color theory to their work, as well as investigate the concepts of Goethe, Chevreul, Albers, and other pioneers in the understanding of color.
A prior painting class is a prerequisite.

This very comprehensive class demystifies the business of being a visual artist. Topics include: how to build a resume, plan your own show, approach galleries, manage emotions, create a publicity tool-kit, use creative marketing, control your finances, do your taxes, and get organized. Each participant receives a booklet of worksheets and information.
